It takes a 2 year degree. You can go to any community college and become one.

There are both degree programs (Associates and Bachelor’s) and certification programs. Make sure that your program is fully accredited and approved by your state; different states may have different requirements. Google for paralegal programs in your area.

A two year associates degree is needed. there are trade schools that you can go to that focus on just that area but if you want to pursue a career to offer advancement then you are better off going to a community college offering that degree and transfering to a four year school. good luck.

You can be a paralegal one year after law school.

As mentioned you can get a degree as a paralegal.

I’d suggest you ask any law students/professors you know about the field or if they know any paralegals.

I was certified as a paralegal after my BA. If there are law schools in your area or even associated with your school now, ask if they have a certfication course in it.

Be careful though. Be sure to compare programs. I knew of another program aside from the one I chose. What I didn’t know was that although they charged the same price for tuition, this second program required your college transcript, 3 letters of recommendation AND that you buy the required text, which was quite expensive, of course.

    Good luck!
